Job Summary

The Agency Channel Manager is responsible for recruiting, developing, and managing a network of insurance/financial advisors (agents) to drive business growth. The role involves achieving sales targets, ensuring agent productivity, and maintaining strong relationships with channel partners.


Key Responsibilities

1. Agent Recruitment

  • Identify and recruit quality advisors/agents as per defined criteria
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospective agents through field activities and networking
  • Conduct interviews and onboarding of agents

2. Training & Development

  • Provide initial and ongoing training to agents on products, sales processes, and compliance
  • Support agents in achieving licensing requirements (if applicable)
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions to improve performance

3. Sales & Business Development

  • Drive sales targets through the agency channel
  • Ensure productivity of agents by regular follow-ups and field visits
  • Assist agents in closing high-value deals

4. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents
  • Address agent concerns and provide timely support
  • Motivate agents through engagement activities and recognition

5. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track agent performance, sales pipeline, and conversion ratios
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Prepare and share periodic MIS reports

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of active agents recruited
  • Agent productivity (policies/revenue per agent)
  • Business premium/revenue generated
  • Retention of agents
  • Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 1–5 years of experience in sales (preferred: insurance / BFSI / agency channel)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in field and manage multiple stakeholders
